Never Shout Never Continues to Keep Fans “Happy”
Probably best remembered for their summer 2009 single “Happy,” Never Shout Never has released “Harmony,” the latest full album from the group. “Harmony,” released on Aug. 23 by Loveway Records, features 11 tracks of pop acoustic with a side of harmonica and banjo.
For anyone who liked “The Summer EP,” “Harmony” will not disappoint. The album has been well received by fans, climbing up to #14 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.
The album includes the singles “cheatercheaterbestfriendeater” and “This S*** Gets Old” which was recently performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Sept. 7.
Many of the songs, such as “First Dance” and “Sweet Perfection,” are cheerfully fast-paced and ridiculously catchy. If you find yourself wanting to listen to those two in particular over and over, you’re not alone.
The album slows down halfway through with the sixth track, “I Love You More Than You Will Ever Know,” a short and sweet acoustic love song that provides a nice break in between some of the more upbeat songs.
Never Shout Never kicks off their Harmony Tour with The Maine on Oct. 19 and is set to play in Austin at La Zona Rosa on Oct. 30.
Overall, the album keeps with the same spirit of Never Shout Never’s breezy and laid back style of music. “Harmony” is definitely one of those CDs to keep in the car for those stressful days of sitting in traffic.
