My name is Jovahana Avila. I am a freshman political science major with a minor in English writing and rhetoric.

I am currently the director of internal affairs of the Student Government Association, where I have organized and implemented the Associate Membership Program.

I am a graduate of Hilltop Leaders where I have learned to value working with a diverse group of people.

I have staffed a youth mock legislative session with the National Hispanic Institute for the past two years where I have developed skills to manage organizational culture and the use of formal protocols.

It is because of my past experiences, that I am keenly aware of the need to improve my community which has made me passionate about serving others.
