Hello, my name is Ben Griffith. I am a communication major planning to graduate in 2017, and I am running for your Student Government Association vice president.

This past academic year I have had the pleasure of serving as a senator for the association, where I have worked with students, faculty, and staff to create legislation to better the St. Edward’s community.

In my role as a senator, I have worked to make the speed bumps on campus more visible and helped create an outreach initiative entitled the “Hot Seat,” to hear about issues on campus from the students themselves. If elected, Anna Lopez, and I will strive to improve SGA’s engagement with the student body by understanding the issues and problems within the St. Edward’s community and create change.

I transferred to St. Edward’s last fall and a major component that drew me towards the hilltop was the sense of community. Anna Lopez and I believe that the connection between SGA and the rest of the St. Edward’s community can be improved. However, we cannot succeed without student involvement. Come be the change that the university needs. We want you to be heard.
