Kayla Sulewski: Wow, Hilltop Views, Wow
Wow. That’s all I can say, Hilltop Views. Wow.
It’s been a crazy few months, or years or however long I’ve worked here since I actually don’t remember. I’ve gone from those days as a little English major with no journalism experience, copyediting (despite not knowing what AP Style was) under the guidance of Jenna Jaco while she played Korean computer games and sang to Ariana Grande, to being the head of a lovely team of copyeditors and surviving “BernieHitlerpocalypse 2016.” I remember the infamous wifi outage of 2014 when we all walked to Amy’s (RIP) because we knew we wouldn’t be leaving the office before 2 a.m. That was when this started to feel like a family — albeit a dysfunctional one that yells a lot.
In the end, I don’t have much to say. Thank you for fostering, fueling and then crazily accelerating my interest in journalism. Thank you for stealing my Friday afternoons and Monday evenings, every. freakin. week. And thank you for the weird friends and happy hours and endless supply of funny stories to tell in the future.
