UPD Chief Rudolph Rendon resigns
St. Edward’s University Police Chief Rudolph Rendon resigned Oct. 5, said Mischelle Diaz, university director of communications.
“The University accepted Chief Rendon’s resignation last week and has appointed Captain Dan Beck to serve as Interim Chief while we conduct a search for a replacement,” Vice President of Financial Affairs, Kim Kvaal said, “Sergeant Homer Huerta will also take on additional responsibilities during the interim.”
Rendon was inducted as Police Chief seven years ago on Oct. 9, 2008. Currently, the details surrounding his resignation are unclear. He has not yet responded to phone calls or offered comment.
Rendon brought 29 years of law experience to St. Edward’s, according to a Hilltop Views article published Oct. 15, 2008. Rendon had worked with four school districts before coming to St. Edward’s.
