SGA presidential campaign: Jonathan Cruz
My name is Jonathan Cruz and I am hoping to be the president of the Student Government Association for the upcoming year. Soon we will face a new academic year. A new opportunity to not only create change on our campus but also to implement the student body’s ideas, your ideas and dreams to make this university the best that we can.
From being an RA at Casa to being on the cheer team to being the Asian Heritage Events Coordinator with the Multicultural Leadership Board, I’ve enjoyed promoting the dynamic spirit and unique values that I encounter everyday while interacting with you, the students.
And ultimately, I want to continue that work as your next SGA President. Having been the SGA Court Clerk, I understand the strengths and weaknesses of the association and with that knowledge I will be able to transform SGA into an organization truly for, of, and by the students.
If elected, my primary objective would be to integrate SGA into the student body and the St. Edward’s community. After all, it should be SGA’s objective to represent the views of the students and not just themselves.
Furthermore, if elected, my running mate, Jonathan Edwards, and I will strive to engage university administrators on your behalf and actually work to create a better university experience for everyone. It’s one thing to see a problem, but it’s another thing to take what you see and do something about it.
If you are ready for leaders with experience in team-building. If you’re ready for students engaged in outreach throughout the campus community. If you’re ready for advocates who will support your concerns from Ragsdale to Main, vote for Jonathan Cruz and Jonathan Edwards!
