Skrillex puts on dance party in the park by dropping the bass

Skrillex put on a bright light show coupled with dance beats, invoking an atmosphere of a club on the field.

There was a major dance party happening Saturday night at the Austin City Limits music festival, and it wasn’t at Eminem’s performance.

Although Skrillex had to compete with superstar Eminem who performed at the same time as the electronic music producer and DJ, it seems clear that Skrillex was the winner in terms of fun and dancing.

People walking away from nearby performances turned back and joined the party once Skrillex started dropping his beats. There were even some festival-goers that started running to get closer to the stage by the second song.

It was amazing that there was just one person on the stage because the energy was so electric. The hypnotic beats seemed to put the crowd in a trance as they furiously danced away like crazy people. It was impossible to not have fun the wake of this club-like atmosphere.

There was never a lull in the DJ’s performance, which flowed seamlessly from song to song with absolutely no silences, keeping the crowd moving the whole time.

At one point during the performance, a huge spaceship dubbed the “Mothership,” which debuted at Coachella last spring in honor of his Mothership Tour, came onto the stage and presented the audience with a trippy light show that I’m almost positive featured an alien.

Skrillex put on what might be called the funnest experience at ACL 2014, just because you didn’t feel the need to know the words to every song (because there are no words in Skrillex’s songs), and could just go with the high-energy flow that created a massive dance party that reached almost to the gates of ACL.
