Keeping up with Vogue: Kimye embodies high-fashion lifestyle
Boy meets Girl. Girl is an independent woman with her own business and money. Boy is an independent man with his own business and money.
Boy and Girl fall in love. Boy and Girl get engaged.
A typical love story when acted by the likes of Katherine Heigl and Ryan Gosling brings hope and tears to heartless romantics around the world. However, when Boy and Girl are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, the internet goes into a hating frenzy.
Recently, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, together known as Kimye, appeared on the cover of Vogue.
For the magazine-inept, Vogue is seen as the fashion pioneer in pop culture. Many believe that the couple does not deserve to be on the cover of such a prestigious magazine. While these haters, usually donned in their pizza-stained t-shirts and holey sweatpants, might not have the credentials to be on anybody’s cover, both Kardashian and West are more than qualified.
Kardashian owns the boutique clothing store Dash, has several collections at various department stores and is a fashion icon, with many magazines selling tips on how to mimic her sassy but glamorous style.
West has been an active member in the fashion industry for years now. He owns his own clothing line and has been a part of fashion shows all over the world.
This power duo dresses for success and it landed them on the cover of a fashion magazine. But Vogue is not the first fashion magazine cover for either of them.
Back in 2007, West was crowned one of the men of the year in GQ magazine. In 2010, Kardashian posed in stunning pictures while discussing her role as a business woman.
So what is all the hoopla about?
People simply do not like Kardashian or West.
Despite her role as a woman who turned a negative situation into a business empire, Kardashian is pinned as an unintelligent woman who’s famous for doing nothing.
West is also often villainized in the public.
His commitment to his rights for privacy and freedom of speech are often criticized and paint him as a boisterous agitator.
Whether you disagree with Kim’s journey to fame or find some of Kanye’s remarks over-the-top, remember that as a consumer you have many choices. One of those being that you do not, under any circumstances, have to buy Kimye’s issue of Vogue.
It would be a shame, though, to miss out on the adorable pictures of baby North West.
Kimye may have a number of fails, but North West was definitely not one of them. She looks so happy playing with her mommy and daddy. Kim and Kanye are wearing beautiful threads, but North West steals the spotlight, all while sporting nothing but her birthday suit.
Kimye may be on the cover, but Nori is the star.
