Traitors lose rights by joining al-Qaida, CIA should attack

Drones are necessary to protect American national security.

Currently, in an undisclosed place there is an American working for al-Qaida actively plotting attacks against Americans abroad. Watching him from the sky is a CIA drone, which cannot attack until the United States Department of Justice can build a case against him in accordance to new policies implemented by President Barack Obama last year.

While the Pentagon is now in charge of operating drones, they cannot order an attack on this terrorist because U.S. officials have said that he is in a country that refuses American military action on its soil. To get around this, the president should order a one-time strike through the CIA.

Sometimes exceptions to policies need to be made, and this is one instance where it is acceptable.

Obama has every right to protect the country from all threats, but especially people who are actively plotting against America.

These people are traitors to the republic. They have decided to change their allegiance from America to an allegiance with America’s enemies. By aligning themselves with the country’s enemies, they have lost their rights as an American, and the Obama administration has every right to order a drone strike against them.

They have decided to take an action that removes all their constitutional rights by joining a terrorist group. These people do not have the right to the Fifth Amendment; they’ve lost their right for due process of law.

American-born terrorists can be classified as an enemy combatant under the Authorization for Use of Military Force resolution passed by Congress in the weeks after 9/11.

Unlike foreign-born terrorists, Americans-turned-terrorists were raised here. They know the good that America has and will continue to do acts of good. They know that there are good Americans in the homeland and abroad. But terrorists do not care about this. Their top priority is to destroy the United States, regardless of who is hurt or killed in the process.

This is why the White House ordered a drone strike against Anwar al-Awlaki, a leading figure of al-Qaida in Yemen. Awlaki was involved in several failed terrorist attacks on American soil.

Protecting American citizens is the government’s top priority, and they should do what is needed to accomplish this goal. Terrorists will do whatever they can in their power to bring the U.S. down, but they have picked the wrong enemy. America has more power, resources and support than al-Qaida ever will have.

If terrorists want to plot attacks against the country and its citizens, then they must know that the U.S. will retaliate to protect its national interest and security.

The drone program is a necessary evil in the modern world. It is better to kill terrorists, regardless of their citizenship, overseas than for them to attack America and its allies on their soil.
