In the College Kitchen with Jenna: Milkshakes

Sometimes a milkshake is the only thing that makes sense in this world. And during finals week, most of us are looking for Truth in this seemingly endless/pointless week. You’re eating at weird hours and probably not eating what you should … so let me help you to make more questionable food choices.

The Classic Milkshake

5 scoops of ice cream

1/2 cup of milk

Directions: put in a blender and blend for about 20-30 seconds.

If you don’t have a blender you can do this with a spoon and whip vigorously, but it’s kind of a pain so you might want to guilt someone else into doing this for you.

If you want to make it a chocolate milkshake but you only have vanilla ice cream, you can add 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup or about 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder. Also, maple syrup is delicious if you’re up for an adventure.  And finally, if all of this seems like way more effort than your waning mental stamina can handle, 24 Diner on Lamar and 6th makes the best milkshakes I’ve ever had.

I hope your week is going well, and you rock face on your finals. If not, feelings are definitely still edible and milkshakes will be there to help you remember that life goes on because milkshakes still exist.

P.S. I would like to inform everyone that what the whipped cream in my picture lacked in aesthetic value it made up for in the fact that it was delicious.
