Katie Brown on Beauty: Fall Products
It’s officially fall, and over the weekend we finally got a bit of a taste of the upcoming fall weather. Even though we’re in Texas and those few days might have been a tease, it still got me feeling in the mood to put away some of my beloved summer beauty products and dig out some of my favorite fall ones.
By “summer beauty products,” I’m talking about products in colors that usually scream summer, such as bright lipsticks and blushers. Although I love my corals and bright pinks, I tend to shy away from them in the colder months. Don’t get me wrong – I’ll never judge someone who can rock a bright lip during any time of the year.
So what exactly are fall beauty products, you ask? Colors such as berry tones, purples, reds and greens tend to fit that category, and tend to go on trend right when fall rolls around.
So if you’re searching for some new beauty products to help transition you into fall, I’d like to share with you some of my most used and favorite fall beauty products.
Clinique Super City Block SPF 40
Although it may seem like sun protection is not important when the weather is cold, it’s extremely important to protect your skin as well as keep it moisturized all year round. One of my favorite moisturizers is this one by Clinique, which contains a high SPF as well as keeps my dryer winter skin moisturized. A big bonus of this product is that it is also slightly tinted, which makes for a perfect base for foundation or concealer.
If you’re looking for the perfect berry shade that isn’t too dark or vampy, this is it. A makeup artist and beauty blogger favorite, this shade is best described as going on as a pinky toned wine shade. If I’m wearing this in the day time, I like to messily blot this all over my lips and then take my finger and even it out, which produces a stain-like effect. At night, I like to go all out by using a similar colored lip liner and then applying it straight from the tube.
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
This is one of my absolute favorite makeup products of all time. The color tattoos in general are such a good product because they are very long lasting and incredibly easy to apply. Although I own this product in many colors, this bronze color is what I tend to reach for when I want a no fuss, everyday makeup look. It’s a great slightly shimmery brown shade that suits just about everyone. I simply apply this on my eyelids with my finger, apply some mascara and I’m good to go! This product can also be easily built up for a more defined nighttime look.
I hope you all can find some of these products useful and beneficial to your fall beauty routine! For questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to email me at [email protected].
