With their blend of punk energy and indie smarts, The Thermals ignited one of the Orange stage’s few mosh pits on Friday with a tour through their excellent back catalog.

Lead singer/guitarist Hutch Harris powered his way through classic songs like “How We Know,” “No Culture Icons” and “A Pillar of Salt,” while bassist Kathy Foster bounced along gleefully. Many members of the crowd sang along to nearly every song, demonstrating how loyal of a fan base the band has.

While the band may not have the same kind of flair or cult following as some of the other groups at the festival, the Thermals confidently proved that it has no intention of slowing down as the band enters its second decade.
