Men’s golf swings strong amongst ivy
The St. Edward’s men’s golf team finished fourth out of 14 teams at the Macdonald Cup, a Division I tournament hosted by Yale University Oct. 1-2 at the Yale Golf Course in New Haven, Conn.
The Yale Golf Course was ranked as the number 1 College Golf Course in America by Golfweek in 2011, and recognized as the 71st most difficult course in the world by Golf Magazine in 1988.
Host Yale took first place with a final score of 565, Princeton finished second with 570 shots, and Darmouth placed third at the tournament.
The Hilltoppers finished with a final score of 580, and placed ahead of Harvard, Columbia, Penn., and Colgate University, among others.
Freshman Jose Hernandez placed 6th at the tournament, senior Santiago Quintero tied for 9th place, freshman Luke Kwon tied for 29th place, freshman Andres Rodas tied for 37th place, and freshman Logan Boatner tied for 70th place.
