Intramural participation grows
Campus Recreation’s intramural sports season is in full swing as volleyball, flag football, racquetball and tennis began last week.
This year, interest in intramural competition has sparked compared to the previous years. All four sports increased the number of teams and individual competitors, according to Director of Campus Recreation Andy Lemons.
Racquetball and tennis have had the greatest increase in participants, with racquetball going from 10 to 14 competitors and tennis increasing from 9 to 28 competitors, Lemons said.
“The tennis and racquetball tournaments are uniquely scheduled in that brackets are set up so that each match takes place at any point over a week span,” Lemons said. “The players contact each other and set up a mutually agreed upon time to meet and play, and then email our Intramural Manager the results for the
