Baseball players play extra innings
While many of us were enjoying a relaxing summer, members of the St. Edward’s baseball team were playing ball in summer leagues across the nation to improve their skills for the upcoming season on the Hilltop.
Players notify their coaches during the fall as to whether or not they’d like to participate in summer baseball leagues, and the coaches match players up with a team that will give them plenty of playing time against strong competition, said junior left-handed pitcher Max McDonald.
Senior right-handed pitcher Jeff Rohrbach has high expectations for his senior season,one of which is winning the Heartland Conference championship for the first time in his career with St. Edward’s.
“I think we’ve always had the pieces to win but haven’t put it all together. We’ve struggled putting everything together and playing consistently,” Rohrbach said. “We’re starting fresh. There are a lot of new players and a lot of good players returning. Hopefully we’ll be able to succeed throughout the
