St. Edward’s receives record donations
A $13 million donation – the largest in St. Edward’s University history – will be used to build a new campus library and to renovate the existing Scarborough-Phillips Library.
President George E. Martin announced the gift from Austin’s Bill and Pat Munday at a university leadership retreat in late July. With their latest gift, Munday, owner of the South Point Auto Group, and his wife, have given St. Edward’s more than $16.2 million since 2003.
The couple’s previous donations helped build the John Brooks Williams Natural Science Building and established a scholarship fund for students, said Mischelle Diaz, director of communications for St. Edward’s.
