The Texas Rally for Life took place in downtown Austin January 22 on the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion. Thousands of pro-lifers from all over Texas came to march from 17th and Congress to the south steps of the Capital to hear speakers like Governor Rick Perry, Senator Dan Patrick, and Representative Geanie Morrison. In his speech, Perry announced that the Sonogram Bill, authored by Patrick and Morrison, would be put on an emergency fast track. If passed this piece of legislation would require a woman about to have an abortion to have a sonogram of her unborn baby.
