The Editors’ Cut: Drafthouse seeks candy feedback
With hearty menu offerings like Spaghetti Squash and Pomodoro Sauce and Green Chile Mac ‘N Cheese, not to mention a whole host of local and import brews, it’s easy to forget that there are Alamo Drafthouse patrons who prefer to order typical movie fare like popcorn and candy.
But when Alamo founder/ CEO Tim League put out a call for candy preferences this morning, the people responded, requesting everything from decadent Godiva chocolates, to locally made candies.
League and co. are soliciting feedback as the Alamo works to consolidate their menu offerings across locations. The current candy conundrum? The Village, Ritz and S. Lamar theaters offer loose candies in Chinese style to-go containers, while the other locations opt for other varieties of standard boxed candies.
If the 100+ comments on the Alamo’s blog are any indication, Drafthouse fans have some strong opinions. Although, if you ask me, the next time your sweet tooth strikes during a film, skip the Mike N Ikes and opt for the $5 milkshake instead.
