Q&A: Meet Remy Boswell

New men’s basketball player Remy Boswell has started his season off by leading the Hilltoppers to a victory against Huston-Tillotson in their season opener. So who is Remy Boswell?

Emily Blasdell: What year are you in?

Remy Boswell: I’m a junior. I just transferred to St. Edward’s this year.

EB: What is your major?

RB:International Business

EB: Where are you originally from?

RB: I was born and raised in Oklahoma.

EB: Do you have a nick name?

RB: Ya, it’s Remy. Technically my full name is Brentlee Remington Boswell; however, Brentlee was accidently spelled Bentlee on my birth certificate.

EB: How did you end up at St. Edward’s?

RB: I originally started out playing basketball in San Diego. I then transferred to Houston Baptist University. I was then recruited by Coach Cook to play basketball here. I loved the city of Austin and how academically well-known St. Edward’s was.

EB: What is your favorite sports team?

RB: The L.A. Lakers because of the dynasty they have. They have always had a great team with great players.

EB: Who is your hero?

RB: My mom and all other single parents because they work so hard and make so many sacrifices.

EB: What is your favorite cartoon?

RB: SpongeBob because there is so much random stuff said and done on that show. It’s something funny you can put on when you are having a bad day that will make you laugh no matter what.

EB: Do you have a pre-game ritual?

RB: Ya, I like to eat Alfred chicken and say the Lord’s Prayer before games.

EB: What is your favorite restaurant in Austin?

RB: Chuy’s on Riverside. They have great Mexican food! However, if you want to eat real good stuff, you need to go to San Diego.

EB: Are you a Mac or PC?

RB: I’m a PC. I bought a Mac off of Craigslist one time, but was ripped off because it was a 10 year old one.

EB: Dr. Pepper or Coca Cola?

RB: Neither. I drink water.

EB: What is your favorite fast food chain?

RB: Taco Bell. I love their half-pound beefy potato burrito and their value menu. Also, some are open until 4 in the morning.

EB: What is your favorite after meal game?

RB: If we win, pizza or PB and J.

EB: What is something people don’t know about you?

RB: I think giving back is so important. I know what it is to lose everything. I want to one day open a business in a third world country that will help the country out.
