Fitz and The Tantrums: Funky beats and wild dance moves make crowd get off their feet

Fitz and The Tantrums’ songs often have groovy beats and catchy lyrics that make people want to dance just by listening to them through headphones.

Their performance on the Honda stage at Austin City Limits amped up this experience and multiplied it by 5000. Every member in the band played or danced all over the stage. Everything from solo dancing by different band members to saxophone solos happened on stage and it was all consistently entertaining.

The band also constantly talked and interacted with the crowd. They even called Austin their “second home.” They would remind everyone that they “have to dance” and “get off their feet.” At one point, they had the crowd get low to the ground, and they even pointed out people that were still standing. The crowd remained low until the beat became faster and when the band gave the cue for everyone to jump up and start dancing again.

One person from the crowd exclaimed, “Honestly, I only knew a few of their songs but I danced my butt off. They had so much energy, and it just made them so entertaining to watch. They were definitely one of the bests performances I’ve seen at ACL.”

Fitz and The Tantrums also dragged people in by playing their own version of “Sweet Dreams are Made of This” by Eurythmics. Since that song is incredibly popular, people that weren’t even part of the crowd were singing along. This also helped attract more people to join in the dance party, letting people sing and dance to a song that they know even though they did not necessarily know Fitz and The Tantrums.

Fitz and The Tantrums definitely made their performance look like a dance party. Their interactions with the audience and constant dancing made them look fun and interesting. This should help them gain more fans, and should help people decide that they need to see them for next weekend at ACL.

Watch Fitz and The Tantrums perform Sunday on the Honda stage at 4:00 p.m.
